Maruti Suzuki launched its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) called Maruti R3 at the 10th Auto Expo in New Delhi on 05th January, 2010. This latest launch Maruti Concept rIII or R3 is a next generation compact Multi purpose vehicle that is designed by a team of Indian young automobile engineers.

 

According to the automaker Maruti - Maruti Concept rIII or r3 is a bold and aggressive initiative. This latest launch from Maruti at the Auto Expo 2010 is a compact MPV that has all the features & attributes of a sedan.

Call it a van or a car, it is the latest launch from India's most loved automaker. Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its latest MPV model – Maruti Suzuki Concept R3 at the ongoing Auto Expo 2010. It is the first Compact Multi-Purpose vehicle concept from the automaker. This latest launch has a 1.2 liter petrol engine. This new family car is expected to be priced around Rs. 3.5 lakhs to 4 lakhs.

This latest launch - Maruti Suzuki Concept R3 looks more like a van than a car. Concept rIII has the aggressive design philosophy of some of the bestsellers like A Start, SX4, Ritz and Maruti Swift. The look and features of this model is similar to the Maruti Suzuki Versa – the so called family car-cum-van that failed in wooing buyers. The 6-seater Concept MPV is an all-new compact vehicle completely different from any of the existing cars from the Maruti Suzuki family and hitherto unseen at any auto international show.
Maruti Suzuki Concept R3 is conceptualized, designed and built by a team of experienced and talented Indian designers. This cars has been built in a short time span of merely nine months.

Engine
This latest launched Maruti Suzuki Concept R3 comes with 1196cc engine. The engine of this small MPV is available in two types. The Concept R3's engine is expected to produce a high torque of 101Nm@3000rpm and 73bhp of raw power at 6000 rpm.
